この作品達はシックスマガジンのために撮影されたもので、同ブランドによるホチキス留めされていないA3の出版物(シックスマガジン)で、言葉は一切含まれておらず、CDG創設者川久保玲のビジョンを実現するための印象的な画像だけが掲載されていた。川久保がこれまで雑誌「シックス」で描いた中で最もお気に入りの作品達として記憶されているこの写真撮影は、約25年後に再び注目され、雑誌「デイズド」で特集され、それ以来、特に独立したジョージアとその繁栄するファッションとアートシーンで、より多くの聴衆に届くようになった。 
川久保玲のジョージアへの関心は、ジョージアの原始画家ニコ・ピロスマニから始まりました。グリフィン氏と川久保氏はそれぞれ英国と日本から飛行機で到着し、首都からわずか20分ほど離れた正教会近くの丘の上でキャンペーンの撮影を行った。川久保がスタイリングし、グリフィンが撮影したこのチームは地元の農民と協力し、プロのモデルを一切使用しなかった。撮影のコンセプトは、コム デ ギャルソンのデザインと地元の人々のデザインを組み合わせ、ブレンドすることでした。 
グリフィンは、ソ連からの独立を目前に控えた国（ジョージアは1991年に独立）での写真撮影の珍しい環境を回想する。同氏は、ホテルのホストが二人の私的な電話での会話を盗聴していたほか、人々がスターリンの像を破壊する様子や、選挙戦の撮影中に人々が教会の庭で動物への冒涜を行っていたのを目撃したほか、選挙戦の撮影中や選挙後に地元の人々と祝宴を開いていた際に監視下に置かれていたことを回想している。そのような状況下で写真撮影が行われました。 
マザー・ジョージア像の象徴的な写真は、川久保がすでに日本に帰国した翌日、グリフィンによって撮影されたが、物語の中心となる画像となった。 
グリフィンは当時ファッション写真家としての自覚はなかったが、川久保と芸術的なつながりを見出し、それがコム デ ギャルソンにとって最も特別なキャンペーンの一つにつながった。
